wedding photos in the rain

The couples that book me understand that either rain or shine we are taking pictures in outdoor locations. I come totally prepared with umbrellas, and rain gear for my couples and for my equipment; so I am prepared for everything! Jackie and Chris’s wedding was overcast all day with the threat of rain, so I was prepared to capture their wedding photos of the rain no matter where we went in Philadelphia. So because of their large bridal party we went behind the Philadelphia Art Museum for pictures since I was able to post the bridal party on the stairs. So light rain started to fall and I was still capturing moments with my bride and groom. So I pulled out the clear plastic umbrella that I have for the writing room with me and went to work using the large expansive area and the pillars behind the fillet of your museum to get some amazing pictures for my couple. Even though was raining Jackie and Chris did not mind one bit. So in order to add a little more enhancement in drama to the image I darken the background a little bit within my camera, and added a flash behind them to add some backlight. On a dark dreary day in September that little flash added some pop to their pictures. My couples know and expect that no matter what the conditions are we are still photographing outdoors. They know me and they know how much I like inclement weather since I have a reputation of making something out of nothing. That is why the majority of my couples know that I’m more than just a wedding photographer; I go above and beyond to make sure that my couples have awesome images on their wedding day no matter what the conditions or situations are.
