To me one of the most dramatic images I can capture on the wedding day are images at night with the bride and groom. This is definitely something that my couples look for but also, something that is a given when I photograph winter weddings in Philadelphia. Since most brides plan their wedding and picture times for their winter weddings, they fail to realize that when they come on the church it’s going to be dark, and to me that is one of the best times that I could capture images around Philadelphia!
As you can see in this image it was a cold winter night, actually in January, at the tail end of a brief but steady flurry of snow. So the ground was wet, it was dark, and it was right before their cocktail hour was to begin. Captured a Philadelphia City Hall, the atmosphere and lighting was absolutely perfect to add to the feeling of this image! But more importantly, Alicia and Gary, were more than willing models, to make sure they got Philadelphia City Hall wedding pictures at night. Capturing them in this moment in the courtyard at City Hall meant everything to them, because they have spent some time in this location as a couple. The feeling that they had, came through in this image, which really does speak volumes! Keywords: Gerard Tomko Photography (1548).
